Recent Activities

Our work has been predominantly focused in Kenya, working with schools that cater to orphaned and vulnerable children. We are building new facilities as well as renovating existing facilities.

In Kisumu, Kenya we refurbished a school and supplied the children and teachers with hundreds of books and learning materials. We also upgraded the school bathroom, providing the children and teachers with running water for the first time.

In a village located approximately twenty minutes outside of Kisii Town, Kenya, we built a ten-room schoolhouse that will have it’s grand-opening on September 27, 2009. We have provided considerable teaching materials for this facility, and we are donating funds on a monthly basis to pay for on-going expenses.

We have provided each of these orphanage schools with a systematic reading and study skills program. The Help for Orphans International School in Kisii, Kenya was recently ranked #4 out of 270 schools for academic achievement.

In order to create sustainability for this effective education model, we delivered a highly successful teacher training and plan to expand this offering across the country.
